ADISQ 2011 - Album of the year – Best seller

Last night, l'ADISQ gave us a taste of its grand music celebration by giving its first awards as part of the ADISQ "Autre Gala".

With 22 awards to give, the Album of the Year - Best seller went to Ginette Reno for her latest album "La musique en moi"

Next week, Louis-José Houde will be hosting the 33rd ADISQ presented on Radio-Canada on October 30. The event will be held at the St-Denis Theatre in Montreal.

A duet for Ginette Reno and Maxime Landry

Le retour de nos idoles 2012: with Ginette Reno!

After Jenny Rock, Demis Roussos, Michel Louvain and Claude Barzotti, who were part of last year's edition, it is now time of Michel Delpech (Pour un flirt), Joël Denis (Le yaya), Renée Martel (J'ai un amour qui ne veut pas mourir), Tony Massarelli (Aimer et mentir), Alain Morisod et Sweet People (River Blue), Charles Dumont (Toi la femme mariée), Michel Pagliaro (J'entends frapper) and Michèle Torr (Emmène-moi danser ce soir) to visit Quebec city for « le retour de nos idoles 2012 ».

A dozen artists from Quebec and Europe will be on stage, sponsored by Ginette Reno and hosted again this year by Michel Drucker and Michel Jasmin. Mouffe signs the art direction with an orchestra of 12 musicians and singers.

Two shows a day will be offered from May 4th to May 6th at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec. For people outside of the capital, packages including bus transportation are available at 1866 532-2161.

World film festival celebrates 35 years, and honours Ginette Reno's 'Magistral' presence in Quebec cinema

Serge Losique came out to say some kind words for Reno, who was to receive the festival's Prix des Amériques. He spoke of her golden voice, her "magistral" presence in Quebec cinema, and referred to her as "Ginette, notre gloire nationale," before the screening of a series of excerpts from films she has appeared in including Léolo, Mambo Italiano and C't'à ton tour Laura Cadieux.

Reno gave an emotional acceptance speech, saying she had dreamed of being movies since she was young.

"Today, at 65 years old, it's even more gratifying - merci," she concluded.
